One of the most realistic Vietnam War movies ever made, was the first one to come out called “Go Tell The Spartans ‘starring Burt Lancaster.
It came out just after the war was over and it didn’t get the publicity and press that it deserved. It was released too close to the end of the war, and it was too recent, fresh and honestly painful at the time.The general public was not and still might not be ready for it.
It is not bloody and it is not depicting atrocities on either side. It mostly depicts the policy and absurdity of the non productive strategy pursued by the U.S. forces etc. I have heard many veterans say it was the most accurate. Later came the trilogy including
Full Metal Jacket etc. I found and watched ‘Go tell the Spartans ‘ on Youtube for free.
