  1. During these difficult ‘pandemic times’, I watch some old ‘Film Noir’ black and white movies. Peter Lorre was the ‘petty gangster’ in the movie Casablanca.
    He appeared in many movies in the 1930s and 40s and into the 50s. A famous ‘character’ actor, he had a strong ‘foreign’ accent when he spoke english. Let’s pretend it is a ginormous fly.

  2. Yes, Casablanca! Many of those fine actors were themselves uprooted because of the war. It is a gem and beautifully written and portrayed by a very convincing cast of veteran actors. A moment in a tragic historical time capsule was captured in a bottle in this movie. I will watch it tonight if my computer cooperates. Viva La France! (proper french?}
