This is an imaginary scene that I have witnessed in real life many times when I take the Staten Island Ferry.
The ship way out past the bridge is heading out to the deep sea. (The Atlantic Ocean) I often wonder about those sailors leaving behind family or loved ones, heading out into the expansive vast unknown. Professional fishing and working on ships can be hazardous. There is something graceful and fascinating about the lines of a big ship. I was very young on the Gulf of Mexico at Corpus Christie Texas which is a big port town.
As a little boy I used to spend hours watching the big ship go by. I like bridges and ships, To me they must represent travel or change. I don’t care for routine too much. I like change. Motion, forward ho!
